# West Ham deal to sign Simone Zaza from Juventus hits the rocks

West Ham have hit a stumbling block in their deal to sign Simone Zaza on loan from Juventus this summer.

The Hammers [had agreed a £1.7m loan fee with Juventus to take the 24-year-old for the season](https://readwestham.com/2015/08/25/west-ham-set-seal-13-2m-deal-imminently/), with an option to buy for £11.5m next summer should he impress.

[West Ham were expecting an answer from Zaza himself today](https://readwestham.com/2015/08/24/player-decide-tomorrow-wants-join-west-ham-deal-agreed/) as to whether he would come to the club for the season.

However, according to Italian journalist [Gianluca di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/eng/sevilla-moves-closer-to-acquiring-llorente-while-zaza-asks-for-time-with-west-ham-offer/), Simone is now reassessing the situation, as Fernando Llorente looks set to leave Turin for a return to Spain with Sevilla.

The Europa League winners, who were considering a loan move for Andy Carroll, as said to be closing in on the signing of the Spanish international striker.

Simone, who only signed for Juventus earlier this summer in a €15m deal from Sassuolo, has been made the club’s fourth-choice striker, and was set to be omitted from their Champions League squad.

Now, with Llorente set to leave as well, Simone could be handed a first-team chance.

It seems it will come down to which deal will get over the line first, Llorente to Sevilla or Simone to West Ham.
