# BREAKING: Cheikhou Kouyate to sign new £30k-a-week contract with West Ham

West Ham midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate is set to sign a new long-term contract with the club.

The [Daily Mail](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/west-ham-transfers-hammers-close-6260189?) have reported that the Senegalese international midfielder has been offered a new contract by the Hammers following his fine form since joining the club.

The 25-year-old will double his £15,000-a-week wages he is currently earning as he’s grown into one of West Ham’s most influencial players.

Signing last summer in a £7m deal from Belgian side Anderlecht and penning a four-year contract, Kouyate has been a shining light at Upton Park, and will now commit his long-term his future to the club.

Epitomised by his goal at the Emirates last week, Kouyate has continued to come up trumps in the big games.

He’s more than willing to extend his stay at the club, buying into the project in place as he is enjoying life in East London with international team-mate Diafra Sakho.
