# West Ham Join Race For Inler

West Ham have reportedly joined the race to sign in-demand Napoli midfielder Gokhan Inler this summer.

A report from Italian radio station, [Kiss Kiss Napoli](https://www.tuttonapoli.net/calciomercato/kiss-kiss-inler-in-uscita-rispunta-il-galatasaray-su-di-lui-anche-due-club-inglesi-e-uno-tedesco-242284), state that the Hammers have shown an interest in the Swiss international midfielder, but face competition from both Leicester City and Bundesliga side Schalke.

Sky Sports reported today that the Foxes had agreed a £3.1m fee with the Serie A side for the transfer of the 31-year-old defensive midfielder, who has also been linked with Watford, Galatasaray and Fiorentina recently.

West Ham are keen on strengthening their midfield this season as they look to move on from club captain Kevin Nolan at the position, and with a deal to sign Alex Song from Barcelona still not complete, Inler has appeared as a surprise alternative.

[Gianluca Di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/calciomercato/inler-lagente-in-inghilterra-si-cerca-lintesa-con-il-leicester/)claims that Inler’s agent has flown to England to hold talks over a possible move, as West Ham continue their search for another central midfielder.
