# West Ham Bid For Austin

West Ham are nearing an agreement with QPR for the transfer of striker Charlie Austin, according to the [Daily Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/west-ham-step-up-charlie-6177475?).

The Hammers, as well as Newcastle and Southampton, have so far refused to meet the R’s £15m valuation of the England striker, deeming it too much.

However, in light of their latest crushing injury blow with Enner Valencia set to miss up to six months through a knee injury, Slaven Bilic has returned to the negotiating table for the 25-year-old.

West Ham will make an £11m bid for Austin, plus former club-record signing Matt Jarvis for Austin next week.

The England international winger was wanted by Rangers on loan in January, but Premier League regulations stopped a deal from going through as they had already signed forward Mauro Zarate from the Hammers.

West Ham are also said to be close to completing the season-long loan signing of Raul Jimenez from Atletico Madrid.
