# West Ham Pushing Through Hernandez Bid

West Ham have reignited their move to sign Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez following their latest injury blow.

During last night’s Europa League clash with FC Astra, Enner Valencia was stretchered off with a serious knee injury, and test results are expected today, but manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed that he is “fearing the worst”.

In a reactionary move to soften the blow, the club have now returned to the negotiating table to sign Hernandez, despite being told earlier this month that he wasn’t for sale until United sign another striker – which hasn’t happened yet.

West Ham only have one out-and-out striker available for next week’s Premier League opener away at Arsenal, Diafra Sakho, and are making a serious push to bring in a striker before the game.

One man who could fill the void is Atletico Madrid forward Raúl Jiménez – an international team mate of Hernandez’s – [who is being eyed up on a season-long loan](https://readwestham.com/2015/07/31/west-ham-set-to-sign-la-liga-striker/).
