West Ham have suffered a real blow in their pursuit of Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, as their manager Louis van Gaal is set to give him an opportunity to impress at Old Trafford.
ESPN FC report that the Mexican will have a place in the Red Devils’ squad for the upcoming 2015/16 campaign, despite the forward featuring just twice under van Gaal thus far.
The Hammers had reportedly been in talks with the 27-year-old front-man, as Slaven Bilic looks to strengthen his attacking options ahead of a busy season.
Hernandez is scheduled to join Manchester United on tour in the United States of America, which begins on July 25. Whilst in Seattle, the Manchester United manager explained in a press conference that: ‘I let Chicharito go, but now he is coming back.’
2014/15 saw Hernandez surplus to requirements, in which he was loaned out to Real Madrid where he scored nine goals in 33 appearances for Los Blancos.
Javier Hernandez, Angel Di Maria and Marcos Rojo are scheduled to join #MUtour in the USA on 25 July.
