# Lanzini To Sign This Week

West Ham are expected to complete the season-long loan signing of Al Jazira playmaker Manuel Lanzini this week, reports [HITC](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/07/15/west-ham-to-tie-up-lanzini-loan-deal-freeing-downing-to-join-mid/?utm_medium=share%20service&utm_campaign=social%20media&utm_source=twitter&utm_content=HITCdeadlineday).

The Hammers have agreed a loan deal with a view to permanently sign the 22-year-old from the UAE side, but were waiting for the paperwork to be finalised.

The terms of the loan were confirmed last week, with [Goal](https://readwestham.com/2015/07/06/west-ham-set-to-complete-midfielder-loan-deal/) reporting he was to fly to England and undergo a medical, which will take place tomorrow according to the Daily Mail.

“*Everything is agreed, the player is now sorting things out but if everything goes according to plan he will be flying to England for a medical at some point this week.*“ a club source told Goal.

This move will allow Stewart Downing to make his eagerly awaited return to Middlesbrough, with a £7m deal said to be agreed between the two sides.

The 30-year-old midfielder is understood to have his heart set on a move back to his hometown club, and will undergo a medical this week.
