West Ham’s striking prodigy Carlton Cole could make an immediate shock return to the Premier League, according to the Daily Mirror.
Leicester City’s new manager Claudio Ranieri is reportedly interested in snapping up the free agent, following his release by the Hammers. Ranieri has previously worked with Cole, having managed him during his managerial tenure at Chelsea over ten years ago.
West Brom, Aston Villa and Norwich are also said to be monitoring the 31-year-old’s situation, as he continues his search for a new club. The Englishman was given his debut at Chelsea by the Italian manager back in 2002 as a youngster, and they could be set to reunite.
Cole has seven international caps for the England national team, and Ranieri previously described him as ‘Tyson’ due to his strength and physicality. The forward was close to joining West Bromwich Albion in the January transfer window, but the deal fell through on transfer deadline day.
