# Man United Plot £15m Raid For Sakho

Manchester United are lining up a shock move for West Ham star striker Diafra Sakho, reports the Daily Mail.

Louis van Gaal wants an exciting striker to replace the outgoing Robin van Persie, who’s undergoing a medical at Fenerbahce ahead of a £4.9m move.

The 25-year-old Senegalese international striker scored 12 goals in 26 games last season for West Ham, and already bagged a brace this season in their opening game in the Europa League against FC Lusitans.

West Ham co-owner David Gold recently stated how much he believes in Sakho and the heights he can reach.

‘*He is the one who can surprise everyone. I believe he can become a world-class striker. He has the passion and attributes to be one of the top forwards in the Premier League.*‘ he said.

Sakho turned out to be one of the bargain buys of last season following his £3.5m move for FC Metz, and is a fan favourite at the club.

The Hammers have [already turned down an approach from Newcastle](https://readwestham.com/2015/06/16/newcastle-attempting-shock-move-to-sign-west-ham-striker-diafra-sakho/) to sign their star man, and have absolutely no intentions to sell him.

If anything, the club are looking to add to their striking options next season, [with Roma forward Mattia Destro set to sign on a season-long loan](https://readwestham.com/2015/07/08/west-ham-set-to-complete-striker-loan-deal/).
