Fenerbahce are interested in Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik. The forward, who has been linked with a move to Upton Park, is now a target for the Super Lig side.
The 27-year-old Slimani impressed at the World Cup in Brazil last summer, with two goals and one assist for Algeria. Since then, he found the back of the net twelve times in 21 appearances for the Portuguese capital team during the 2014/15 campaign.
Slimani still has two years remaining on his Sporting Lisbon contract. However, the Hammers have showed major interest in the striker over the previous year or so, with Slimani admitting that there was concrete contact with East London.
He told Le Buteur early this year: ‘it is true that there was an offer from West Ham for me, but I chose to remain at the club as I think stability is a good thing.’ Fenerbahce are now looking to lure him away from Portugal.
West Ham have also been linked with a move for Italian international striker Mattia Destro, but face competition from fellow Premier League side Arsenal
Miller Bolanos, international team-mate of Enner Valencia, is also a reported target for the club, who are also closing in on the signature of QPR and England man Charlie Austin.
