West Ham will face competition with fellow Premier League side Sunderland over the loan signing of Carl Jenkinson, according to the Telegraph.
The Black Cats have offered Arsenal £2million for a loan deal, in addition to covering all of his wages, so it could be difficult for the Irons to secure Jenko for another season.
The Gunners however do not want to permanently sell the 23-year-old, so Sunderland’s offer could perhaps be too good to turn down. Arsenal want him to develop at Upton Park on the other hand, so the deal could go either way.
Jenkinson is reportedly happy at West Ham, so the club is hopeful of securing his services for the 2015/2016 campaign. The Englishman made 36 appearances for the Hammers during his tenure at the Boleyn Ground, and has one international cap for The Three Lions.
Following the release of Guy Demel and Danny Potts, the signing of a right-back must be a priority for Slaven Bilic.
