# Sampdoria Want Obiang-Valencia Swap

Sampdoria are hoping to conclude a player-swap deal with West Ham involving midfielder Pedro Obiang and striker Enner Valencia, according to [Gianluca Di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/calciomercato/sampdoria-president-will-travel-to-london-to-meet-with-west-ham-for-obiang-valencia-swap/).

It was initially reported that Club President Massimo Ferrero was [flying to England this week to negotiate with West Ham regarding two separate deals](https://readwestham.com/2015/06/05/sampdoria-president-massimo-ferrero-flying-over-to-broker-deal-with-west-ham-for-pedro-obiang-and-eder/).

However, it’s now believed that he will propose the Obiang-Valencia swap deal, and see if the Hammers have any interest in such a deal.

The Irons have been chasing the Spanish midfielder for some time, and were hoping to agree a deal in the region of £6m this summer as a permanent Alex Song replacement in the side.

Valencia on the other hand hasn’t quite lived up to his £12m price-tag, with only four league goals in his maiden season at Upton Park, but is [still being touted for a move across the Capital to rivals Chelsea](https://readwestham.com/2015/06/04/chelsea-interested-in-signing-west-ham-striker-enner-valencia/).
