West Ham set to offer Rice new contract
West Ham are set to offer Declan Rice a new contract with the club after his impressive displays this season.
According to The Evening Standard, West Ham are ready to had him a new long-term deal regardless of what happens this season with their relegation fight.
The club are six points above the drop zone and look set to stay up. However, if they were to drop a division they would still look to tie Rice down to a new deal.
The 19-year-old defender has fought his way into David Moyes’ West Ham side and is now set to be rewarded for his progress with a pay rise.
His current contract is due to expire in the summer of 2020, with West Ham likely to add at least another two years to that.
Rice was handed his senior international debut by Ireland last month, a reward for his form with West Ham.
