West Ham sent representatives to watch Benfica’s clash with Porto on Sunday and, according to claims from Portuguese news outlet O Jogo, they scouted Mexico international Raul Jimenez.
The striker led the line for Benfica at the weekend but was unable to prevent his side from succumbing to defeat, with Hector Herrera clinching the win for Porto late on.
Jimenez has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham in previous transfer windows and, if O Jogo are to be believed, they remain interested in the player.

A number of Premier League clubs were in attendance for the colossal Liga NOS clash on Sunday but Jimenez was the man who West Ham’s scouts focused on during the match, it seems.
The Hammers will be on the lookout for added attacking spark in the summer transfer window having let go of Andre Ayew and Diafra Sakho in the January transfer window.
Jimenez is reportedly valued at €50m by Benfica, but West Ham are hugely unlikely to meet this valuation.
