West Ham boss David Moyes has called on defender Arthur Masuaku to show more against Stoke City on Monday night.

The DR Congo wingback has impressed this season, and was superb against Southampton on his return from suspension a fortnight ago, assisting Marko Arnautovic’s goal.

However, he was disappointing against Chelsea last weekend, when the Hammers drew 1-1 at Stamford Bridge, in what may have been a crucial point in the club’s fight to avoid relegation.

The former Olympiakos defender was banned back in January for spitting at Wigan midfielder Nick Powell in an FA Cup fixture, which would see him miss the best part of three months before making his return.

With David Moyes’ side only winning once in his absence, his lack of presence was sorely felt, and now Moyes has challenged him to bring that level back to the London Stadium. Moyes said;

No doubt we have missed him.

I thought he did very well in his first game back against Southampton, I thought in his last game I was hoping for more.

Maybe it was getting back, adrenaline gets you through the first game so I am hoping for a bit more from him against Stoke than he showed against Chelsea, more like the Southampton game.
