Andy Carroll has returned to West Ham training this week, but David Moyes is refusing to rush the striker too quickly back to the first team.
The striker is in line to return against Stoke City on Monday night, but is likely to start from the Bench.
David Moyes announced the news in his pre-match press conference but said that he is being careful about Carroll.
He said, via the Daily Mail:
‘He is back in training,We got him back at the start of the week and we will keep monitoring him. He has trained for a few days so we will see how he is. Obviously he has not trained for 11 weeks and I have got that in my mind as well.
‘If we get Andy back, it is a big plus to us. We know that – how good he can be and what he can give us. The quicker we get him back the better. Will he be ready? I am not sure yet.’
Carroll had been out for over 11 weeks, and will be a big boost for West Ham as they look to avoid the drop.
