David Moyes has downplayed links with Fulham’s Tom Cairney after the Scottish international was spotted in the crowd at the Hammer’s draw with Chelsea.
According to the Evening Standard, West Ham target Cairney was spotted in the crowd at Stamford Bridge with close friend Matt Smith, who is now at QPR. The pair were caught on the TV cameras just behind David Moyes’ dugout.
Moyes had been at Craven Cottage on Tuesday, supposedly to watch Cairney, Ryan Fredericks and Aleksander Mitrovic, who are all on his Summer radar.

However, Moyes downplayed these links, assuring reporters that it was not intended.
He said:
No idea, was he?
If he was then it certainly wasn’t a ticket from us. I was hoping you were going to say Lionel Messi was sitting behind us!
Fulham held off some interest for the midfielder in January, with several clubs keen on signing him. West Brom and West Ham both were interested in Cairney, but interest could increase if Fulham fail to gain promotion.
