West Ham could make an improved offer to sign Joao Mario on a permanent deal from Inter Milan, according to Calciomercato.
The Hammers signed Mario on loan from Inter in the January transfer window and despite there being plenty of excitement around the signing, he has largely flattered to deceive in claret and blue.
However, Mario came to life in the club’s recent must-win clash against Southampton. The Portugal international netted his side’s first in superb fashion and turned in an excellent performance as West Ham defeated Saints 3-0.

Mario is popular among West Ham’s supporters and is keen to secure a move away from Inter on a permanent basis this summer. However, it seems the Italian side are holding out for a considerable transfer fee for Mario’s exit.
It’s been claimed that the Hammers had a bid worth €13.7 million turned down by Inter in recent weeks. However, if Calciomercato are to be believed, the Hammers are considering making an improved offer in the near future.
