West Ham and Southampton eye move for Basel’s Elyounoussi
West Ham and Southampton are both interested in Basel’s Mohamed Elyounoussi, who impressed against Manchester City during the week.
The Mirror claim that the two clubs are eyeing up a £15 million move for the 23-year-old, who is catching plenty of admirers for his form at Basel this season.
Elyounoussi put in a Man of the Match performance for Basel against Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday night, scoring the visitor’s first goal in a 2-1 win.
The player, who has long been on the radar of several clubs after earning a growing reputation among European football, has scored seven times this season.
Elyounoussi has also helped lay on the goals for Basel this season with 13 assists to his name.
Any move for the Norwegian will ultimately depend on what division either club are playing their football in next season.
Relegation is not out of the question for either West Ham or Southampton with just under a dozen games left to play this season.
