In January, it was reported that West Ham were keen on signing promising Real Betis midfielder Fabian Ruiz.
The Hammers were out to sign a new holding midfielder in the mid-season transfer window and a number of players, including Fabian, were touted as targets for the club.
It seems likely that West Ham will reignite their interest in a new central midfielder when the summer comes around and if Fabian is indeed a target for David Moyes, he may need to fend off a whole host of competition from elsewhere.

According to Spanish reports, as cited by talkSPORT, Lazio are the latest club to express an interest in Fabian as they eye up replacements for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Serie A side are set to lose their Serbian midfielder in the summer as interest continues to mount and it seems they are interested in recruiting Fabian as he continues to impress for Betis.
Lazio’s rivals Roma have also been touted as a potential destination for the young Spaniard, whilst West Ham’s fellow Premier League competitors Stoke City are also claimed to be interested.
