West Ham striker Javier Hernandez has heaped the praise on Marko Arnautovic following his side’s win over Watford at the weekend.
The Hammers were able to turn in an impressive display in front of their home supporters, seeing off the Hornets with a comfortable 2-0 victory courtesy of goals from both Hernandez and Arnautovic.
Austrian international Arnautovic has been in sublime form for West Ham of late and has been attracting plenty of plaudits for his recent efforts. As quoted by Football London, experienced forward Hernandez was the latest to lavish praise on his fellow attacker.
Marko is an unbelievable, all-around player and it gives you a lot of confidence when you play up front with a player like him, or like Joao [Mario] or Manu [Lanzini]. We have a good understanding with each other and both of us scored today. That’s a good thing for a striker.
After a shaky start to life with the Hammers, the ex-Stoke forward has come into his own in a West Ham shirt and is establishing himself as David Moyes’ talisman.
Not only did Marko and I score, but the whole team ran with high intensity and we showed that we wanted the three points.
Hernandez is hopeful that West Ham can continue to push on into the final stretch of the season, and is keen to develop consistency and continuity between now and the end of the campaign.
Three points are three points whoever they come against, and we need to keep going day-by-day and game-by-game because every game is going to be a final.
We have a little break [between fixtures] now, which will give the players who have been playing the chance to have a little rest and for the other players to get fitter, so everybody is going to be healthier and the manager can decide who will start.
