Hernandez nears Besiktas move with Man United set to miss out
Just six months after joining West Ham, Javier Hernandez looks set to cut his second Premier League spell short. Goal understands that rumours of a £8.5 million move to Besiktas is close.
Manchester United were rumoured to be interested in bringing the striker back to Old Trafford after leaving in 2015.
Besiktas will reportedly offer the Mexican a three-year contract worth €3.5 million per year as they seek a proven replacement for Cenk Tosun, following his move to Everton.
Hernandez arrived on a three-year deal in the summer for £16 million but has struggled since his return to Premier League football, scoring just four times this season.
He has since fallen out of favour under new manager David Moyes.
Moyes recently hinted he intends to add to the squad when he demanded the club invests in English players.
The Scot faces a challenge of keeping his attackers at the club this month. Both Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll have also both been linked with moves away from the London Stadium.
