Oxford is desperate to return to Monchengladbach
West Ham starlet Reece Oxford is desperate to return to Borussia Monchengladbach this month, according to German outlet Kicker, as cited in Sport Witness.
Kicker also believe that Oxford having played for the Hammers this week is great news for the German club, as he cannot transfer to any other club except Gladbach if he does leave London.
FIFA regulations state that a footballer can only represent two clubs in any one season, so Oxford having already played for two clubs this campaign leaves his January options much narrower than they were last week.
West Ham were said to be “considering” whether or not to bring Oxford back at the beginning of January, and eventually opted to do so. However, the player has expressed to the club that he wants to move back to the Bundesliga outfit.
Gladbach’s sporting director Max Eberl hasn’t shied away from talk of their interest in resigning the 19-year old defender-cum-midfielder, having recently made his desire to have him back public.
With Oxford also said to be keen, the only issue lies with the proposed transfer fee, with West Ham wanting £15million. However, another loan move could also be possible.
