West Ham looking at Swansea’s Alfie Mawson
West Ham United are set to bolster their defensive options with the signing of Swansea defender Alfie Mawson next month as reported by ESPN.
Mawson has been playing well despite Swansea’s defensive problems and would certainly not be out of place in the Hammers backline as they look to tighten up.
Hammer boss David Moyes is keen to improve the squad with players who have Premier League experience and this is something which Mawson has in abundance after joining the Welsh side in 2016.
Mawson played a vital role in helping his side avoid relegation last season putting in some brilliant performances and is one of the best up and coming defenders in the league.
The youngster has played every minute for his side this season and the Hammers are set to make a move for Mawson who last season was thought of as a potential full England international.
West Ham are looking to exploit the Swans situation of not having a manager in place at present, although it looks likely that former Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvahal is set to take the role, just days after being sacked at Hillsborough.
