West Ham have seen an opening bid in the region of £8 million rejected by Bournemouth for midfielder Harry Arter.
The Express reports that the Hammers have tabled a bid with David Moyes looking to push through a January deal.
Moyes has highlighted the central midfield position as an area that requires additions in the new year, with the former Manchester United boss a huge fan of Arter.
Bournemouth will be desperate to keep hold of the Irish international who has played a key role in their rise through the leagues.
The Hammers also sit just a point above Bournemouth in the Premier League table going into Saturday’s games, so whether the Cherries will want to sell to a direct rival is yet to be seen.
Arter has been in and out of the struggling Bournemouth side this season due to the emergence of Lewis Cook, who has become a first-team regular after joining last year.
