West Ham United manager David Moyes has expressed his concern about the fitness of his squad during the busy Christmas fixture schedule and reveals injury news ahead of the Carabao Cup fixture with Arsenal, as quoted on Football London.

The Hammers have found form in recent weeks, with victories over Chelsea and Stoke City and a draw against Arsenal.

Moyes seems to have got the best out of his side who have had to work extra hard in the fixtures against Arsenal and Chelsea, which is having an effect on his players.

Mark Noble was forced off the pitch in the win against Stoke after scoring the opener from the penalty spot and Moyes is distraught about losing his captain.

It really was [a shame]. He’s done superb, we think he’s got a bit of a hamstring and we are in a busy period.

We are really short on midfield players and the boys are having to put in a big effort. Mark Noble, great achievement, 300 Premier League games, good on him.

Moyes also revealed that Marko Arnautovic and Pablo Zabaleta were carrying knocks following the away win.

Obviously, there are a few dropping at the moment. We had Zabaleta with a dead leg from early on in the game, so we are finding ourselves struggling for players.

Even at the end, Marko Arnautovic had a calf strain so we had to bring him off for Chicharito to go on the right as we ran out of midfield players.

We’re all mucking in, all doing their jobs and they are doing it well and defensively we have kept another clean sheet which is always good at the wrong end of the table.

The Hammers are now out of the relegation zone and Moyes will be hoping to continue the rise up the table to safety from the relegation scrap.

West Ham face Arsenal on Tuesday night in the quarter final of the Carabao Cup and then host Newcastle United on the weekend.
