West Ham were unfortunate on Sunday afternoon, as they were narrowly beaten by Manchester City.

The Hammers travelled to the Etihad Stadium with little pressure on them. Following their horrendous 4-0 defeat to Everton in midweek, a performance was not expected at City.

However, David Moyes’ men showed fight and threatened to stun the unbeaten league leaders, opening the scoring just before half-time through an Angelo Ogbonna header.

City came out firing in the second-half, though, and equalised through Nicolas Otamendi.

West Ham battled hard in what was a backs to the wall performance, but saw their hard work undone by David Silva, who connected with Kevin De Bruyne’s lofted ball over the top.

It was a disappointing outcome for West Ham but an encouraging performance nonetheless.
