In the last 48 hours, claims supposedly coming from the agent of West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku suggested that he was looking to leave the club in the January transfer window.
Masuaku has split opinions of West Ham fans during the 18 months he has spent at the club since his £6m arrival from Olympiakos but at this time the club need to look at bringing in defenders rather than letting them go.
Reports suggested that a transfer to Serie A was on the cards with the likes of Napoli and Juventus having had eyes on the fullback in recent years, but Masuaku has taken to Twitter to reject those claims.
Twitter: In order to avoid any misunderstandings i’d like to stress out that neither me or my agent (Panos Galariotis) know… https://t.co/1woF289pZH (@ArthurMasuaku)
The 24-year-old says that neither he or his agent knows the person in Italy who leaked the comments, stating they are not true and his only focus is to help West Ham achieve their goals this season.
In order to avoid any misunderstandings i’d like to stress out that neither me or my agent (Panos Galariotis) know mr. from Italy… So everything that is published is completely false. I’m only focused on helping my team achieve its goals.
Masuaku has made eight appearances for the Hammers this season, scoring his first goal for the club in a 3-0 win over Bolton in the Carabao Cup third round.
