West Ham are set to face competition from Galatasaray in their pursuit of Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah.
Reports have recently stated that the Hammers are targeting a move for the versatile Juve man, who is out of contract with the Serie A champions at the end of the season.
Asamoah will be free to discuss a move away when the January transfer window opens, and will be allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, if West Ham are to pursue their reported interest in Asamoah, they may need to fend off Galatasaray, who are long-term admirers of the Ghanaian.
Speaking to Turkish media outlet Fanatik, as cited by talkSPORT, Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek confirmed that his side will make a new bid for Asamoah when the January transfer window opens.
In the end Juventus didn’t want to let him go. We already had an agreement with Asamoah, and we’ll repeat our offer during the winter transfer window.
The 28-year-old can play all across the midfield and has previously featured as a left-back for Juventus during his tenure at the club.
