West Ham are believed to be one of three clubs chasing the signature of highly-rated Ghana U17 international defender Rashid Alhassan according to Ghanasoccernet.

The athletic left-back has earned rave reviews at youth international level and is away with Ghana at the U17 World Cup in India where he’s attracted interest from clubs across the world.

Alhassan plays for Aduana Stars in the Ghanaian Premier League and is believed to be on the radar of both Bundesliga side Hannover and MLS outfit Chicago Fire.

Samuel Asante, the agent of the talented 17-year-old defender, has confirmed the Hammers’ interest but they will not make a decision on his next move until after the U17 World Cup.

There are several interest at the moment. But I can speak of the ones from West Ham and Chicago Fire from the US. Hannover are also interested in his services. We’ll look at the best option before deciding on his future.

He is currently with Ghana’s U17 squad for the World Cup in India and so the situation will be clearer after the tournament. No need to rush and make any pronouncements but that’s the situation with him at the moment.

Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku currently split time at left-back in the West Ham first-team, while the Hammers are also very high on teenager Vashon Neufville in the youth ranks.
