Bilic struggling to get the most out of Hernandez
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has admitted that he is struggling to get the best out of Javier Hernandez and Andy Carroll in the same team.
The Hammers boss has been attempting to play his two first choice strikers together in recent times, but has been using summer signing Hernandez out on the left hand side to ensure that Carroll leads the line.
This hasn’t been a recipe for disaster just yet, with the Hammers having found a bit of stability after a shaky start. However, neither of the two forwards have flourished as of yet, with Hernandez having scored just two this season – both against Southampton.
Bilic, as quoted by Football London, was discussing the struggles he’s faced this season as he looks to make the most of his attacking options. The return of Marko Arnautovic from suspension against West Brom only added to his, admittedly positive, selection headache.
It is very hard to please everyone. It is possible of course, I think about that the most but it is hard to put them in their ideal positions. It looks really good on paper and is easy to do that but then it is hard to have three at the back, plus Michail Antonio, Marko Arnautovic and Andre Ayew, it is almost impossible.
The Hammers boss will now hope that his side can defeat Bolton in the Carabao Cup third round.
It is nice to have the options but you want them all on the pitch at the same time so of course I am thinking about that.
OK, Chicharito is not playing in an ideal position but I spoke to him, he is a great lad and we have priorities and we need you there. He is doing the job, that was a priority now we have to keep the stability, we can’t lose it.
