West Ham would have been hoping for some good news from Slaven Bilic this afternoon in his pre-match press conference but we weren’t so lucky.

As usual, the Hammers are dealing with a number of injuries at the moment, most notably star midfielder Manuel Lanzini who has struggled with a knee issue for the last month or so.

The Argentine made his comeback in the 3-0 defeat at Newcastle last time out before going away with Argentina on international duty where he aggravated that knee once again.

Speaking ahead of the Huddersfield game, Bilic confirms that Lanzini will not feature and could spend the new few weeks on the sidelines.

Manuel [Lanzini], no. He went with Argentina, but he has got a very similar injury so hopefully he is not ready for the game, it looks like a couple of weeks, minimum. Maybe three weeks but it is not a major prolbem. Not for Huddersfield though. Let’s be honest it would be great for West Brom game to be back but maybe he ill miss that to, it won’t be a surprise. But it is nothing major.

Andy Carroll is set to return to the first team squad for the first time this season.
