Lazio eyeing late £9.2m swoop for Diafra Sakho
According to Sport Witness, Lazio could easily snap up West Ham’s Diafra Sakho for just €10m (£9.2m) before the end of the transfer window.
Sakho’s future has been in doubt at West Ham for a couple of transfer windows due to injuries and a huge drop of form but no deal has ever become finalised, but, a move to Lazio could easily be on the cards.
Despite scoring last night in West Ham’s Carabao Cup tie away to Cheltenham, where The Hammers won 2-0, his future at West Ham is still in doubt with Lazio being heavily interested, as their main attacker, Keita Balde Diao, is looking likely to leave the Italian side soon.
Lazio have been interested in Manolo Gabbiadini from Southampton and Yacine Brahimi from Porto, but with the relatively small asking price for Sakho, they believe it is their easiest target.
However, West Ham may not want to sell, with Sakho looking sharp and inform in the two games he’s played this season and if he is to leave, they will only have new signing Javier Hernandez, the injury prone Andy Carroll and the inexperienced Toni Martinez as their striker options.
Also, there is only a week left of the transfer window, meaning it would be hard to bring in a suitable replacement for Sakho.
