West Ham enter race to sign Grzegorz Krychowiak
West Ham are still trying hard to secure a deal to sign William Carvalho from Sporting this summer but are readying contingency plans if that isn’t to be.
One of those plans is to make a move to sign Grzegorz Krychowiak from PSG, but the Hammers will face competition from Chelsea for the Poland international.
Krychowiak was signed by PSG last summer for €33m from Sevilla but struggled to make his mark in the side last season and has been made available for transfer this summer.
The Hammers are desperate to bring in a defensive midfielder and Krychowiak is one of the best talents on the market right now, but being at PSG, there’s every chance that West Ham would be unable to meet his wage demands, making a loan move for the player much more likely than a permanent transfer.
Porto’s Danilo Pereira and Benfica’s Ljubomir Fejsa have both also been mentioned as alternatives to Carvalho.
