West Ham send scouts to watch Raul Jimenez
With just three recognised strikers in the senior squad, and two of those incredibly injury prone and not fit to start as we speak, West Ham could still do with an extra body in attack.
Having been linked with a move for the player earlier this summer, the Hammers had a scout present during Benfica’s 1-0 win over Chaves on Monday night, with an eye on striker Raul Jimenez according to Portuguese outlet O Jogo.
The 26-year-old striker has also been linked with a move to Everton this summer with Benfica reportedly demanding a fee in the region of €50m to sell the Mexico international.
Jimenez’s representatives are set to meet with Benfica to make a definitive decision on the player’s future this summer having fallen behind Jonas and Haris Seferovic in the pecking order at the Stadium of Light.
There is interest in Jimenez from England, Spain and China but it’s unknown whether there are any concrete offers on the table for the striker, especially from West Ham.
