West Ham see bid for Sean Raggett rejected by Lincoln
West Ham are looking to make some astute buys in the transfer window and were recently reported to have made a £125,000 bid for impressive Lincoln City defender Sean Raggett.
The centre-back rose to prominence during the Imps’ run to the FA Cup quarter-final where he scored the winner away at Burnley in the dying embers of the game.
Raggett enjoyed a great domestic campaign with Lincoln as they secured promotion to League Two and was named in the National League’s Team of the Season for his performances.
Lincoln face a tough battle to keep hold of the 23-year-old defender and Lincolnshire Live understand that they have rejected bids from League One outfits Peterborough United and Oxford United as well as the Hammers.
Both bids from Peterborough and Oxford are believed to exceed what West Ham were reportedly offering as Lincoln turn down their offers in the region of £250,000.
It remains to be seen if the Hammers will go back in for the young defender, baring in mind they have a number of promising talents at the club already.
