Andre Ayew will return to France says his father
West Ham’s big-money summer signing Andre Ayew will return to Marseille at some point in his career according to his father.
Speaking to French outlet, Le Parisien, Ayew’s father spoke of the player’s pride for the Ligue 1 outfit.
“It is possible that André will return to OM one day. He is a child of the club, trained in Marseilles. He has the love of the jersey, the fans know he’s ready for anything for his club.”
It has been a difficult first season for the former Swansea City man who has suffered with injuries since joining from the Welsh club.
Ayew joined the Hammers in the summer for a club record fee of £20.5 million from Swansea in August, just one year after joining the Welsh side on a free transfer from Marseille.
The French side have previously been struggling financially and were forced to sell and let go of some of their star players.
Marseille have recently been taken over and signed Dimitri Payet from West Ham during the January transfer window.
They have since been linked with moves for their former players such as Steve Mandanda and Ayew could be one of the next to return to France.
