West Ham’s hopes of landing experienced Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic look set to be destroyed, with the Italian giants reportedly set to offer him a new deal at the club.
According to a report from Italian outlet Il Messaggero, as cited by talkSPORT, the powerful Croatian forward is to be rewarded with an extended stay in Turin.
Mandzukic has never really been a first choice player for the Serie A champions, but has always provided a reliable backup and has shown his quality on numerous occasions.
The Hammers have struggled to find attacking inspiration throughout the course of this season and are certain to target strikers this summer, but it looks as though the former Bayern Munich front-man won’t be one on the agenda this time around.
Slaven Bilic will need to get his recruitment spot on this summer to ensure that the Hammers start the season well and enjoy a better campaign than this one.
