West Ham eyeing bargain deal for Jordi Mboula

The belief is that West Ham will look to add at least two strikers to their squad in the summer, and possibly more depending on any departures of players already at the club.

Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi remains Slaven Bilic’s top target but he’s also got his eyes on a younger prospect from abroad.

According to the Daily Star, West Ham are in talks with Barcelona to sign 18-year-old forward Jordi Mboula in the summer.

The Spain U19 international impressed in the UEFA Youth League for Barcelona this season, netting eight goals in nine appearances.

With his contract expiring at the end of next season, West Ham have made an early move to sign the striker and are willing to meet his £4.1m release clause.

Barcelona are open to selling the youngster but will insist on including a buy-back option valid for the next two years, something they’re routinely including in transfer deals.

Both Monaco and Benfica are interested in signing the forward dubbed the ‘new Thierry Henry’ but West Ham are leading the race to sign him.
