PL2 Four Findings: West Ham U23s vs. Stoke City U23s
Tonight West Ham U23’s played Stoke City U23’s in a PL2 clash. It was the U23’s second match at the London Stadium, in the first they ran out 2-0 winners versus Fulham. This game finished 1-1. The team played well but 1-1 was disappointing.
The first half was dominated by West Ham with Edimilson Fernandes slotting home a nice move for the Hammers inside five minutes. Stoke pegged West Ham back grabbing an equaliser with a penalty. Declan Rice, the captain who earlier this week signed a new contract at the club, committed the foul and Stoke winger Ngoy slotted home the penalty. Trott got close but the strike was a powerful one.
The second half started quietly with minimal chances for either team. The best West Ham chances came from free-kicks. West Ham dominated the majority of the second half but the Stoke defence were resilient.
Read West Ham were at the game covering it and so we’ve put together four findings from the game.
