Michail Antonio has been one of the standout performers for West Ham this season and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.

During the January transfer window, Antonio was heavily linked with a move across the city to Chelsea to add to their possible wing-back options but the Hammers were adamant that he was not for sale at any price.

Antonio, who received his first England international call-up back in September, is set to be rewarded with a new contract in the near future.

On the topic of contract talks, speaking to Sky Sports News, Antonio stated that nothing’s really changed in terms of penning improved terms in the near future.

“Right now, nothing is really happening on the contract talks,” Antonio is quoted as saying by Sports Mole.

The 26-year-old has scored eight goals in 24 Premier League appearances this season and claims that his head has not been turned by reported interest from the likes of Chelsea.

“We’ll just see how things go. At the moment my head is not being swayed in any way. I just want to play my football and whatever happens, happens.”
