League One outfit Oxford United have confirmed today that Martinez has joined them on loan until the end of the season.
West Ham signed Martinez from the Valencia academy in the summer for an initial £750,000 but the deal could be worth £5m down the line if all clauses and bonuses are hit.
The 19-year-old has been an instant hit in the Development squad, scoring 12 goals in 11 games for the U23s this season, including 10 in 10 in the Premier League 2.
Lately, Slaven Bilic has called Martinez up to first-team training to get a closer look at the striker but has decided that a loan move into the Football League would be a wise move.
Martinez joins an ever-growing list of young Hammers out on loan across the country, with Marcus Browne, Reece Burke, Martin Samuelsen, Kyle Knoyle, Alex Pike and George Dobson all currently on loan away from the London Stadium furthering their development with first-team football.
