With Cheikhou Kouyate at the African Cup of Nations, West Ham are short of cover in the midfield area.
According to the Daily Mail, the Hammers are in a three-way tussle to sign impressive Olympiakos holding midfielder Luka Milivojevic during the January transfer window.
West Ham signed Havard Nordtveit on a free transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer to provide competition in central midfield but the Norwegian has been primarily used in defence so far this season.
Pedro Obiang has stepped into a more increased role this season and has been very impressive but some extra depth wouldn’t go amiss.

Milivojevic joined Olympiakos from Anderlecht in a £2m deal in July 2015 and has enjoyed a great spell in Greece attracting the interest of several Premier League sides.
Sunderland are also interested in the 25-year-old, as is Hull manager Marco Silva who worked with the Serbian midfielder during his time as Olympiakos manager.
Contracted until 2019, Milivojevic is valued at £13m and he’s scored five goals in 16 Super League appearances for the Greek champions this season.
