Adding depth to a threadbare squad is the task Slaven Bilic needs to handle this month and 20 days into the transfer window, West Ham are yet to make a signing – so expect a late flurry of activity as always.
One player who the Hammers are reportedly targeting is Badou Ndiaye, according to Futbol Arena. The Osmalispor midfielder is an international team-mate of West Ham and Senegal stars Cheikhou Kouyate and Diafra Sakho and comes with quite the recommendation.
West Ham are alleged to have offered €5.5m to bring the 26-year-old midfielder to the club this month, but they have strong competition for his signature.
The same report claims that an unnamed Chinese Super League club have bid €8m for Ndiaye, while Trabzonspor have offered €1.5m plus centre-back Mustafa Yumlu in exchange for the midfielder in a deal which would see Osmanlispor entitled to 50% of any future sell-on fee. They have turned down all three offers.
Ndiaye is an attack-minded midfielder who has scored six goals and recorded three assists in 29 appearances in all competitions this season.
With Dimitri Payet edging closer to the exit door, Ndiaye could be a player the club look to sign to help fill the considerable void.
