Marcus Browne set for Wigan loan move
Many of West Ham’s young players will be seeking loan moves this month to further their development with first-team minutes in the Football League this season.
After the likes of Alex Pike, Martin Samuelsen and Lewis Page have all exited the club, midfielder Marcus Browne appears to be next on the move with Wigan reportedly leading the chase to sign him on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
It’s believed that several Football League clubs were eager to land the 19-year-old attacking midfielder on loan until the end of the season, but Championship side Wigan are poised to secure his signature.
Browne is highly-rated at West Ham, illustrated by the club’s move to tie him down to a new long-term contract until 2020. Slaven Bilic handed the teenager his professional debut in the Europa League earlier this season and Browne has featured in the match-day squad on several other occasions this term.
West Ham have signed a number of their most talented young players down to new contracts of late, which suggests that they all could have a role in the first-team in the near future.
