West Ham keen on Ajax starlet Danilho Doekhi
West Ham are one of four Premier League sides interested in making a move for Ajax youngster Danilho Doekhi, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The 18-year-old defender made his senior debut last season with Excelsior in the Eredivisie after spending most of his time in their U21 side and caught the eye of Ajax who signed him in the summer.
With a wealth of talent in their first-team already, Ajax have placed Doekhi in the Jong Ajax side (their second XI) where he has been watched by the likes of West Ham, along with Watford, West Brom and Stoke.
Recently capped by the Netherlands at U19 level, Doekhi is clearly on the right path towards future success and he could soon look to make a first-team breakthrough with Ajax.
However, if that route is blocked then perhaps a move abroad ould be his best bet to reach his full potential and at West Ham there is a proven track record of giving first-team opportunities to talented young players, just ask the likes of Reece Oxford, Martin Samuelsen and Josh Cullen, amongst others.
