Deportivo Maldonado striker Jonathan Calleri is expected to fly into London in the next few hours to finalise his loan move to West Ham.
According to Calciomercato, the Argentine striker has agreed to the loan switch and will complete a medical and sign a contract this week.
The Hammers have been waiting on a work permit for the former Boca Juniors striker, but it’s understood that due to his Italian heritage, Calleri has been granted an EU passport which makes the process all the more easier.

Having scored 16 goals in 31 appearances for Sao Paulo after joining them on loan from Maldonado in January, Calleri earned a call-up to Argentina’s Olympics squad along with West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini and has been participating in their pre-tournament friendlies of late.
Last night Argentina beat Haiti 3-1 and Calleri is expected to fly straight to London and complete his move to West Ham before rejoining the squad ahead of the Olympics, claims Calciomercato.
West Ham made the best financial proposal to the Uruguayan side for Calleri, who rejected moves to Sevilla, Inter Milan, Villarreal and Swansea in favour of joining Slaven Bilic’s side.
