Pedro Obiang has confirmed that he wants to stay at West Ham next season and fight for his place in the team.
The 24-year-old midfielder signed for the Hammers last summer from Serie A side Sampdoria for a fee in the region of £5.1m and made 30 appearances for the club last season, only 16 of which were starts.
Having started his career with Atletico Madrid, the Spanish midfielder to Sampdoria in 2008 and spent his entire professional career in Italian football before making the move to the Premier League last summer.

In the last six months, Obiang has been linked with a return to Serie A with Napoli and it’s been rumoured that he could be available for transfer but Obiang is focussing on the task at hand with West Ham and wants to fight for his place in the team.

“I’m trying to earn a play (in the team) here (at West Ham) and learn football. I believe that this year will be very nice” he posted on Twitter.
With Alex Song no-longer at the club, Obiang should be in-line for some more action in the first-team this coming season.
