According to Darren Lewis of the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are poised to sign Dutch striker Vincent Janssen, fending off rivals West Ham in the process, alongside Paris Saint-Germain.
The report goes on to add that Spurs were leading the race for Janssen’s signature for a while, as he has already undergone opening talks with the North London side.
West Ham had done their best to hijack Spurs’ deal for the striker that netted a penalty against England before Euro 2016, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side managed to seal a deal before it could be intervened.

The Hammers had met the asking price for the Az Alkmaar striker, which is a reported £16m, but the player rejected a move to the Olympic Stadium, and also said no to a potential move to Ligue 1 champions PSG.
The original deal to take the 21-year-old to White Hart Lane was going to cost £12m, but after interest from not just Spurs, the Eredivisie side cleverly upped their price for their in-demand forward.
Spurs boss Pochettino made a new forward one of his tasks for the summer, to back up Englishman Harry Kane.
