Hammers to battle for Bacca
West Ham are set to lock horns with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid for AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca, according to The Express.
Slaven Bilic has previously stated he would splash up to £30m on a new striker for the Irons, and Bacca falls within that price range, valued at just under £25m by his current club, AC Milan.
However, West Ham will have to fend off Champions League finalists Atleti if they wish to secure the Colombian’s signature.
Bacca joined Milan from Sevilla last season, and made 43 appearances for the Italian side as they had a shocker of a season, finishing seventh and sacking their manager. He managed to net 18 goals and assisted four for his teammates.
Last season, West Ham finished 7th and managed to secure Europa League football for 2016/17 after Manchester United’s FA Cup victory allowed them to qualify for entry in the Third Qualifying Round.
